Melchor "Dylan" Moore, Candidate for Commissioner, Announces Platform Focused on Teton County’s Future

Melchor Moore, a Republican candidate for the Teton County Board of County Commissioners, has officially announced that he is dedicated to restoring fiscal responsibility, protecting the rights of local property owners, and ensuring that Teton County remains responsive to the diverse voices of all residents.

Melchor emphasizes that local governance should prioritize the community over ideological division.

To address the most pressing challenges facing Teton County families, his campaign has identified the following three priority issues:

• Fiscal Accountability and Responsible Budgeting: Ensuring that county resources are managed efficiently to maintain essential services without placing an undue tax burden on residents, while operating departments as self-funded enterprises where appropriate. Moore prioritizes infrastructure maintenance rather than extraction of wealth from its residents to provide amenity expansion, which result in rising housing costs and therefore essential labor shortage.

• Protection of Private Property Rights: Upholding the fundamental rights of landowners and ensuring that land-use policies respect the interests of those who live and work in the county. “Workforce housing” fees increase the cost of housing and infringe upon the rights of owners to develop their land.

• Preservation of Local Heritage and Economy: Moore supports the long-term viability of agriculture, ranching, tourism, and small businesses, which form the backbone of the Teton County community. Strict zoning and land-use planning to preserve the County’s natural character, often occurs at the expense of individual development flexibility, while non-profit grass roots lobbyists in our community pressure the County to encroach on these same characteristics at the expense of its residents.
